52 (Early Series) TWO SHAPES

This is one of those Early Series numbers that was assigned twice, first to a PPP flask, and then some time after PPP was discontinued in 1934, to a Remued pot.

52 (Early Series; PPP) Small flask, bulbous body, with one spiral handle.

Does this shape appear in other series? No. Decorative spirals like this are almost entirely confined to the PPP range. For more examples click here.

Early Series / PPP 76 is similar but with a longer neck.

A shape book lists 52 as being the "same as Early Series / PPP 30 only with 1 handle"

There are also similar un-numbered PPP pieces in this and other sizes.

Early Series 67 (and Later Series 44) are somewhat similar but their foot is not as wide.
