Does this shape appear in other series?  No -  (none recorded in image database) but it does appear again in the Early Series with a twig-handle; see Early Series 221.

Judging by the glazes, this appears to be the earlier of the two no.23 shapes.

Early Series 218 is similar but without the flaring lip.

This is one of those numbers that were used for two different shapes at different times during the Early Series years. Presumably the first shape was discontinued and the number subsequently re-allocated to a new shape.
